The SYD 2013 takes context on the different significant events in the Church
and the Salesian world:
• 1st Year of Preparation for the
Bicentennial of Don Bosco’s birth
• 25 years of the
Salesian Youth Movement in the Philippines
• Year of the Faith (Oct. 11, 2012 – Nov. 24, 2013)
• Synod on the New Evangelization (Oct. 7-22, 2012)
• Canonization of Pedro Calungsod (Oct. 21, 2012)
• World Youth Day – Rio de Janiero, Brazil
(July 23-28, 2013)

The Salesian Youth Day 2013 (SYD 2013):
SYM@25 Camp is a gathering of selected leaders and animators (lay and religious) coming together every two or three years.
Through and in the SYD 2013, the participants are envisioned to:
1) Celebrate as one Salesian Youth Movement
(SDB-FIN, SDB-FIS, FMA) the 25 years of the
Salesian Youth Movement in the Philippines;
2) Equip our youth animators and leaders to be
agents of the new evangelization in the style
of Don Bosco;
3) Challenge our youth animators and leaders to be
apostles among the young even “beyond our borders”.
Who are most invited for the camp?
• Potential and active SYM student leaders, youth group leaders
in parishes and youth centers. They must be at least 15 years old or
incoming Third Year High School students.
• Teachers, lay mission partners, youth group animators involved
in the SYM
• Salesians involved in the SYM
Allocation of Slots
The following are the allocation of slots:
• FMA: 200 animators and youth leaders
• SDB-FIS: 100 animators and youth leaders
• SDB-FIN:200 animators and youth leaders
Total: 500 animators and youth leaders
Foreign participants from nearby EAO provinces will be invited. Allocation per Salesian setting will depend on the discretion of their particular province. They may request additional slots, but acceptance and confirmation of the request shall depend upon the turn-out of the initial registration. Available slots will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
